My new giant sponge filter

Postby rajivmemon » Sun Feb 26, 2017 7:50 am

Hi guys,

I just added my new giant sponge filter to a tank , i think i have over stocked , by adding 3 fancy gold fish they are still small but they still create a lot of waste ....

Image

I have 3 fancy gold fish and 3 white carps (only 2 inch right now) , one zebra danio and 2 moonlight gourami, about 2.5 inch right now ...

I have a canister filter running ...sunsun hw 302 , now this giant sponge filter , its huge its like 3 inch thick, 7 inch tall and 6.5 inch wide ...

How long you guys think i can deal with the bio load before i will need to rehome some of the fish ?

Thanks

Rajiv

UPDATE - just rehomed the 2 moonlight gouramis to LFS, now left with 3 milky carp (2 inch each)
3 fancy gold fish (2.5 inch each)
1 golden card 2 inch
1 zebra danio..

I am sure the 29 gallon i have with a canister and one giant sponge filter will be able to handle to take care of the bio load or i will rehome the 3 fancy gold fish ...

How big is your tank? I do not believe in these sponge filters for larger bio load tanks.

Cheers,
