We had long discussions and what we realized that taking the 8am/8:04am trains from Howrah or Sealdah doesnt make any sense. We will reach at or post 12oclock and it's peak birding season so by that time the spots will not be in favour of us, the boatmen will be already hired and the fishes will be tired of human invasion.
So, we will be catching the 5:38 am train from Howrah and will reach Purbasthali by 8am (scheduled time). Those who have problems and cannot make it by that time can catch the trains from Howrah or Sealdah at around 8am. Atleast a major chunk of volunteers reaching early morning can pave the way better for the rest and also it will be fun travelling together for 2.5 hrs or so in a large group in a picnic mode!!!
The other option for people who don't want to delay things so much is to break the journey. There are trains to from Howrah to Bandel Junction at 6:20am and 6:26am and Bandel to Purbasthali at 6:38am which reaches Purbasthali at 8:03am.
Note: The Sealdah route via Naihati is very unpredictable and trains delay a lot so it is recommended to avoid that route even though it's a Sunday morning.
So here are the train details with major stations from where others can opt to board from (Timings are as per train schedule)
