Also, can we have more points the longer the tank is there. From my personal experience I have seen if one can fight off the sudden urges to change aquascapes every 2-3 months, you get a wonderful output. This notion of more matured the tank higher the points will encourage hobbyists to develop a really long sustaining aquascape which becomes a biotope in itself. I have seen so many wonderful tanks that were dismantled after a few months it left me wondering why??
P.S: Should this idea be taken, that would immediately rule out my planted setup :D :D and yet....

Nice idea Bappada, but my personal points are that I lose my interest after achieving my goal in every set up.

I kept cons to see their parental behavior, I watched, I dismantled.
I kept malawis to see how they change the coloration from juvenile to adult and the aggression in the mbunas and how to control that, I dismantled it after that.
I kept Eartheater to breed them and to get the adult coloration, now time to dismantle this set up as well. May be some other EE, but not redhead for another year or so.

One year or two is good for me. :)

Since it is just getting more points and not an elimination criteria....matured tank will carry more weight but wont mean new setups will be disqualified. In any case we should encourage a setup for 1+ year atleast. That is the way, the person who has kept it will have some valuable information for others. Too many 'journals' die after 4-6 months because the tank is dismantled. Those who follow the journal and the ones who write them have seldom some valuable inputs to share apart from 'initial layout' suggestions. I think, now after 5+ years for most of us in this hobby and in this forum, time to stick to atleast one scape and see to it, fix the problem and in the process create a invaluable repository of knowledge. For example, I think I am gradually understanding (although little) some of the key differences between tanks (planted) across six month periods.... So reaping the benefits of 'patience' which by the way was forced upon me by my better half :D !
