150 Gallon of complexities!

Hi folks,

yeah, I am building another reef. :P

So the 6feeter 220 gal tank that had held so close to my existence ceased to exist as i moved to bangalore. it goes without saying that making a larger setup, which most reefer intends to do with every build ,is not really an option in a rented multi-storied apartment. Coz it has every potential risk to relocation. So i have decided to timid myself down and going for a smaller setup.. a 5x2x2 tank. But not to disappoint you all, its not gonna be any less glorious build than the previous :P

So here is the plan as of now.

Tank: 5'x2'x2' ultra clear glass 10mm rimless open top!
Sump: 3'x 20"x18" fully acrylic custom sump with ATO reservoir.
Skimmer: SRO3000EXT external skimmer.
Return pump: Sicce Syncra 5.
Wave generation: Jebao-Jecod CP-40 Cross flow , jebao dual RW-15
Lights: Of course DIY LEDs with 7 channels. have to find an awesome way it can hover over the tank :P
Dosing: Calcium reactor (haven't decided brand/model)
Stand: Iron L channel skeleton, Acrylic finish outside!
heating: Fluval digital 300W E300 x 2.
Cooling: hopefully i wont need in bangalore if needed will decide later.
Substrate and Rocks: still planning!
Controller: Surprises!

So... What do you think?

Another Reef Tank from Master reefer, eager to see the making of your system. But I envy the Bangalore weather, no need of chiller.

Already started and tank/stand has been delivered.

Dimension 5x2x2. 10mm ultraclear toughened rimless without braces. tank doesnt have bottom support by the stand..4 horizontal iron bars hold it up.

5x2x2 unhindered space for equipments. Internal coated with waterproof lining paint n gloss. This will be further cut for ventilation, electricals and plumbing!

I don't like the way he has done the exterior of the stand.. I will redo it with acrylic once all other equipment is complete!

P.S. : This looks a risky proportion but trust me, math has been done and is well within safety limits. unless of course there is a massive earthquake!

dada are you going for acrylic sump for to be safer for its modular functions? like picking up slide and putting down w/o having to worry that it would break...anything like that?

I am a design freak. more flexibility the material can add to my design more orgasmic satisfaction i get. The features i have added to this design can never be added to a glass sump. For example, the close-by tiny holes in multiple numbers, the oval and rounded edges, eurobraces, the stylish and useful probe holders, different channels for pipes etc becomes extremely difficult. Each hole poses a threat for breakage of glass. if your design has 15 holes in the same sheet, good luck with glass.
Secondly the kind of finesse i can get with laser cut die cast acrylic after flame polish, glass wont even come close
