150 Gallon of complexities!

Diary of the Salty life

Given the size of the tank and corals to be housed in there, its no child's play when we have to consider the seriousness of all the requirements involved here.
A setup with any other coral type in a 5 footer isn't all that huge. But, a 5 by 2 stretch of acros & montis is massive. Its like keeping blood sucking leeches in similar volumes. They'll drain the tank of everything in it to thrive, in no time, and to be re-supplementing with all that they need to live & grow, is huge.
Therefore, every step must be taken to ensure that its stays smooth & flawless, it all counts. :-?

And, in saltwater, 5 years should seem like 5 months. If it doesn't, then you are not fit to be a reefer yet. :-w

Therefore Mithun, take your time. :!! :-bd

so, how was your experience with weld-on compared to the DIY method or your previous cement? I see local markets have weld-on but(yellow) only suitable for PVC pipes(?)

too early to say yet.. application ease is same.. weld on 4 is very thin water like so it runs fast through the gaps.. strength wise it should be very good as i have read reviews.. but all will be known after water test tomorrow morning

PVC pipe solvents aren't suitable for acrylic.. but i think they can be used for gap filling as they are quite thick and not for strength on acrylic joins

less scratch prone, doesnt get water marks, looks way more smart. imagine this design in transparent sheet. would it look as good?
