SSRs are like electronics switches. these are capable of switching upto 560V AC 40Amps. Also provides some protection against fluctuations and spikes as a low pass filter.

Finished auto-top-off system. Mcu operated, 1 infrared sensor and 1 failsafe float switch that can give 1mm water level precision. Additional float switch for monitoring reservoir level to save pump from burning out.
Also interfaces with main controller for sending sms/email alerts. It has 3 indicator leds for different status and a buzzer for critical condition alarm.

Thats great job mithun da but if you share the automation part it will of really great help for many out here. looking at just photos we kinda admire but going no where. from a newbies perspective.

well those are too technical to be written in aquatic forums.. those who are interested can contact me I will guide them how to make all the components.. But for a mock up here is the deal.

An IR sensor measures water level by varying voltages across its singal port. An MCU measures the analog voltage across its analog I/O port. if voltage drops at a certain level(water level dropped) MCU turns on the pump. Since pump is an inductive load drawing high current with massive back EMF we cant add it directly to the output of the MCU. It can fry the MCU within a couple of operation. Therefore a Power transistor is used to provide pump with high current switched by a optocoupler connected to the MCU.

Also 2 more float switches 1. for Falsafe for IR sensor. 2. Reservoir level is used to stop overflow in sump and to save the pump from burning out in case reservoir is exhausted.

This will give you a general idea of the automation. If you got more question, feel free to ask.
