Bro.............skimmer is also a part of mechanical filtration but I've never listen any kind if skimmer which can arrest debrises.

There are variuos types of macro algae suitable for sw tanks. You can google for there name and can get them from marine sellers.
Maximum marine guys are using chaetomorpha algae as NO3 & PO4 reducer.

But, I'll not suggest you any macro algae as you have not any sump or refugium.
Macro algaes are rapid grower and they can cover your tank within few months if they get good nitrate or phosphate supply. Then that'll be another headache for you.

So 20 -25'/. weekly or bi-weekly wc 'll be best for your nano to reduce NO3 & PO4. And it'll keep you tank healthy and clean.

if you can catch the fish, then give it a fresh water dip for 30 sec and then release the fish in a quarantine tank. you will see that the white spots are falling from their body slowly.
maintain a steady temperature and as long as your fish is eating, it has no fear of dying.

damsels are hardy fishes and they dont die off that easily. Both your fishes have ich?

@bunty123 : How you can say that your fishes are affected by marine ich?
Do the rubbing their body on rocks?
Do you find any whitish granular spots on them?

If yes, then its ich.
If not, then check your tank water pH.
Unstable pH is a common prob of a new tank which can affect your damsel too.
Do you bought your test kits?

Sorry to say but one of my fishes died.I am sure its itch cause there were white spots and were rubbing their body against rocks. So finally gave the living one a freshwater dip and is looking normal, but problem is that it is not eating.Am still running the thermostat in the tank at 26.

Got a bucket half filled with aquaguard water.Kept a thermostat in the bucket at 28,same as the main tank.Caught the fish and put it in the bucket, kept an eye on it and the watch, saw the time for 1min,and also ensuring the fish is not stressed.after hardly bout 1 n half min, caught it and put it back in the tank.did it last night and now it has very small spot, may be 3 or 4,but its not eating.
