My Saltwater Journey begins......atlast!!!

Postby ashim1610 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 3:59 pm

Hiiiiiii...........friends!!!!!!! :D

After long three months wait, atlast I'm ready to dive in saltwater. :)

In my busy life, atlast I've find a little space for mine. So I've started my marine journey .

Firstly I'm not making my display tank first.

At first I'm making my sump.
Sump size: 3'/1'/1.6' ( L/B/H).

Here I must include that my display tank 'll be 3.6'/1.6'/2' (L/B/H) and 'll be made soon.

I've few 6mm glass pieces from my old tank and I'm useing it for my sump.

But I'll not make deviders in sump now. As the tank 'll be used for curing of LRs first.

Mean while My display tank 'll be ready with plumbing & I'll shift cured LRs into that after scaping my display tank with rock and sand & cycling 'll start.

Same as within cycling period, my sump 'll be properly ready to run. :)

Today my undevided sump tank is ready.

It's made by Kochidaa, one of the oldest LFS owner of behala. I've a very good fishy relation with him since last 8yrs. :p
He agreed to make my entire tank and overflow set-up in three steps. :)
As well as breakdown of costing of the entire display and overflow tank is quite impossible as glasses, necessary for sump is in my stock and Kochidaa is taking just an absurd amount as making charge from me.....you can say its more or less free for me. It is the result of our good relations since last 8yrs. I ask him to pay a standard charge and he refused it wth a smile.

I'll only note down the costing of display tank glasses when I purchase that.

Today afternoon he came to my house and made the tank.

My LRs are coming soon directly from South India. (No need to say extra 'bout it). So I've to ready my skimmer, wavemaker, topfilter, hydrometer and salt.
Hope, these things 'll be in my hand within next sunday...... :ympray:

Now I'm uploading few pics of todays progress............

For curing & cycling process I'll go for marinium salt as it is very cheap.
I've talked with Burodaa for this. But he spoke that only costly reef salts are available at his shop.

But, today Kochidaa said that marinium is always available at galiff. So next sunday I'm going wth him to galiff as he said that he'll help me to buy it in wholsate price. :D

After curing and cycling, I'll do 80'/. WC wth packaged drinking water mixed wth either Instant Ocean or Seachem. :|

My undevided sump tank is ready & waiting for LRs. :)

But sorry for the silicon adhesive linings on back glass. :(

It is the sign of background pesting of my previous tank.

But Kochidaa fixed it externally and as the sump will be out of public view, so I'm not bothering 'bout it.

Though tomorrow I'll try to clean it with blade as much as possible.
