My emersed setups

Hi Sanam, all the containers are in shade of a tree. Direct sunlight gives it a lot of heat which isn't appreciated by the plants. :(

Ok...I was thinking of that...but in my experience...unwillingly I put in some H polysperma in a plastic bag(used to carry fishes), air tied, and forgot it in the balcony. After a month I saw the bag was full of polysperma and the leaves were not aquatic. this bag used to get direct sunlight for around 4hrs 7am-11am. Hence I thought may be this is the way. but I am now proved wrong by tripartita, hair grass and tenellus. :(

If you can retain the moisture well, direct sunlight for 2-3 hours should be fine for most plants. But hair grass definitely needs shade.

Time to grow some ferns emersed. :)

How it started in Jan:

How it is now:

The ferns just need really high moisture but less water logging near their roots. They took a while to adjust to emersed growth and are now growing fast. :) There are only Windelov and needle ferns in that container.

Cheers,

Karthik
