Okay, about the lighting set up, it looks like a pendant, it blends in with the aesthetics of the room, until scrutinized closely.
and puts out a decent amount of light for the tank.
What i did was, I bought a 15-20 watts LED bulb from the local electrical supply shop, with 6500K rating. Was around Rs 300.
Sawed the dome/diffuse off, I almost sawed it through 90%, then it got dislodged from its adhesive and came off like a top hat.
Cut off the flap of the box on one end, made a pencil hole on the other end to put the wire through. put the bulb in ( attached with the pendant holder, and all the electrical items assembled )
Used a thin plastic sheet ( Transparent 2 ltr soda Pet bottle ) to cover the bottom end to shield the LED chips from water splashes, and covered the whole thing up with a paper from my printer.
