you try to wait for naihati-bandel train and by the time you will reach bandel dont be surprised to find the howrah katwa local passing away from two platform distance.
you would be a useless spectator then.
and it did happen to me once.you miss a train, you get screwed for hours.thats how simple it is.
Sealdah division and howrah division is independent.
however you can opt for a train to bandel from howrah directly and then catch bandel katwa local.
direct howrah-katwa train is available at 5:38 AM( howrah) and at 6:43(bandel)
next is bandel-katwa local which starts from bandel at 8 am
then comes howrah-katwa which starts at 8AM from howrah
and finally the sealdah-katwa local which starts from sealdah at 8:04 AM.
To catch the train at 5:38 at howrah means i need to start at 4:45 from my home .but i will prefer personally the a dankuni local at 5:11 from dumdum station which is 2 mins distance from my home and will get down at bally halt to take the all stoppage katwa local from bally.will do my breakfast at bally itself.Thats the method used during my 45 days posting in tarakeswar last year where did daily to and fro journeys and i used to catch early hour trains of howrah divisison.Sounds more legible to north calcutta folks who need to go to howrah and cant trust buses .
this route is widely used and i can trust it more than naihati bandel route as i have first hand experience.
any trains later than that are welcome but not as late as 8 am which may allow us to reach when everything will be over.when time table says you are going to reach at 11:30 bes 100 percent sure that you are not reaching before 12 :00 noon for a route which is long distance and served by hourly trains.
