Today I get sometime to observe their movement, I am satisfied by them. Taking Hikari food normally, moving well. Last time I provided them live food, this time I'll provide them a various food. Lets see which foods they prefer.

Also planning to buy some more. 5 apistos in this 4 feeter tank with lots of hiding place and woods are too small, expecting to keep another 5.

Your posts are always very entertaining..each and every post. :D
Which food did u receive that are meant for dwarf cichlids staying in the lower half and finished by cards? Did u arrange free sample packets of food or what so they are finished within couple of days, and u are again waiting for God knows how many days for the second batch of food. And then u ll update here that u got the next batch of (secret) food. Nobody cares man, these commonest of dwarfs are bred randomly on tb..grow up. Watch the behaviour of the fishes and post your findings so that we learn something. Watch the alpha male's interaction with others, check when they show the brightest color, check their mating rituals.

These guys are not wildcaught, don't worry about food. Just give them a varied diet and ofcourse the best you can manage.

You said earlier that u wanted to keep more apisto as they could not be found in the 4ftr..they are not ideal spp for 4 ftr bro. They are dwarf cichlids..invest on a 2ftr for them..ll be easier to feed too.

A question: can different sp of apistos be kept together? Any chance of crossbreeding!!

not possible to keep another tank just for apistos for my daily schedule. I'll just add another 5-6 agassizi if I find. That's it, not other addition.Last time, agassizi laid eggs in my tank, this time if they do it will be good, otherwise can't do anything extra for them.

Vijendra is the best person to answer your 2 nd question.

Received Ocean Nutrition Spirulina Flakes yesterday. Now both Apisto & Cardinals are eating Australian Blackworms & Spirulina flakes. Last time, apistos didn't eat anything other than tubiflex. This time, 'll never feed tubiflex.

They are doing good in my tank, seems to be healthy and sometimes chasing others. Color should come within 4-5 months.
