Even I dont think it would be possible before november. So lets plan for a trip in november. What say others ?

and then have to book a boat in contract....

I guess you meant to say a 10 mins cycle van ride from purbasthali station as katwa is anothe 15km away..

But before the rain, the waterlevel should reduce which is good time to scoop on the banks..might get lucky with channa. Go early and come back early. :)

Yes @avik the fact is right that every medium to large size wild or semi wild pond is full with Channa sp now. But my observation is with rising sun they proceed towards deep water area. Though obviously we can found some in that locality and yes you are right the water level is lowest during this time...... :)
If there is a handsome number of interested members we can have a trip...... ;)

I do have a couple of majhi's number there. Also there is a govt guesthouse for staying.

Yup..I am looking for u xargon bro ;) will try to lure souvik and Kestoda with birds. Prepare for the trip. overnight fishy adda would be awesome..if u guys never experienced it before. Remember Michael Lo said any shady undisturbed place is good spot. :)

Even i am in. I had a talk with one of the majhi. They actually catch fishes and sell them for livelihood from the main stream Ganges. We have a plan a date and then I would talk woth him again.
