Will you stay in Jayanti Hrishi? You can see lots of barb there, and hillstream loaches, shrimps/crayfishes etc.

Avik

This are different hillstream loaches than what you see in galiff.

Was indeed a memorable trip..Was mesmerised by the crystal clear water and the crypts growing like weed...
Here goes the pics :)
The journey started with us(me and 4 other non-fishy cousins) entering Buxa Tiger Reserve

Thats me posing...

After couple of snaps,i finally took lead and entered the road you can see in the right hand side of the above pic..We came across thick jungle and ventured forward on foot, not knowing where it would lead us.To our surprise, we were greeted by an old man...

Image

I asked him in mixed up bengali :)) as to where i could find water..He told all of us to follow him..I agreed and persuaded the other 4 to join me and they reluctantly said Yes ! After about 15 minutes of brisk walking, i came across this

Boy oh boy what a sight it was for an avid hobbyst like me ! I felt like spending my entire day near the stream..But to my utter dismay, one of my cousins came running and told me that he came across some fresh elephant shit..was scared to death by the sound of it..Finally had to leave the place in a hurry without any livestock :(

But after a few hours, i came across a stream..this time however no elephants were around..The stream was teeming with drape fin barbs, huge tadpoles, some loaches, two spot barbs and danionellas..Could not spend much time as my non-fishy friends were getting impatient..Caught some drape fin barbs, a huge crypt and some danionellas...Will upload the pics of the catch later...

After a satisfied catch, the driver told us of a sacred lake full of catfishes..I jumped out of excitement and told him to take us all there...Got some snaps, but this the clearest of them all..You can see their barbels clearly...We bought soyabeans to feed them

Image

Would upload the pics of the catch soon..hope you guys liked them :)
Thanks for watching :)
