Information About Philips LED Fixture.

Yesterday saw an add 'bout Philips fixture and modules on T.V.

Are they usefull for marine tanks?

Any KACians has got any information or idea 'bout it?

Ya even i saw that add and it looked like a tube light bulb...can we directly use it in our T5/T8 holder and get the LED effect in our tank...

The shimmering effect which we get with LED then the less power consumption, less heat, approx 50,000 hrs life for the bulbs etc...

some of the phillips led fixtures are supercool indeed, that day saw a 5W led for Rs.650 with holder clamps. very soothing light. and yes, less heat, very good life.. so a good buy for community tanks.

I have a T8 unit in my imported tank...can i directly add these bulbs in that fixure or i have to change out the holder and other stuff for this unit...also i want to know whether we could get a Blue colour in this...As its not made for Aquarium use i doubt we could get that...

funny thing about life of LEDs, it hasnt even been 50,000 hours since they were released on market. :p :p

Arnab daa, what is its color temperatur?
And, are Philips actinics or royal blue leds available?

these are only meant for standard house hold. use. so do not expect blue. or actinics
