Bro,
This is nothing to discourage you, but to tell you the truth, there are certaing fundamental things that are missing in your chichlid tank. Sorry to take it up over here though the thread is meant for Marine tank help....
1. Firstly you can remove the colorful rocks and the decorative items. Try to make your tank resemble how it is in nature. Put in simple construction sand and river rocks.
2. Put in enough rocks because malawis are very much territorial and the require hiding space for good health.
3. If you are keeping malawis, do stick to it and do not mix other species with it.

You can use below link to check the required glass thickness, you should go with 12mm as its going to get drilled also.

Hi Sushil,
Yup my thought also that ...will go for 12 mm . The link you have provided giving me 9mm .. :p

Aveek,
I know that actually not the perfect tank for cichlids, but as i had tetras/ neon molly earlier , and i am gona use the tank for sump, I do not add any thing to it. Cichlids is my wife's choice .. the will be sold after few day's though.

You need to increase the safety margin to check the required thickness

Hello Guys,

After long search with LFS , I got some quotation as high as 1.6 lac for a salt water tank ~x( , as they completely missed my communication regarding what I need . :P

Although I got some quotation for Main tank (36"X24"X24") with sump (24"X18"18") and table with all plumbing fixture. I am going for that setup only.

Got LR with 350 Rs per Kg. Is this price ok?? Next whether i should buy mix of LR and dead rock??? Cured or Uncured (not mentioned by LFS)????

Going to buy Reef Octupus NWB 110 skimmer. Online (as price by LFS is as much as 1500-2000 more)

Ocean free T5 Light fixture (as it is FOWLR) cost 8500 rs. Is it ok?

Which Pump set I should use for return?

Please suggest for wave Maker . (LFS giving SOBO 400 M).

7 kg salt - 2650 rs (Brand not given by LFS).

Hydro meter- 650 Rs.

Test Kit - 4250 RS brand not givrn. (Will buy API online)

Over flow Box - 3750 (Please suggest if i need this or not).

Thermometer- will buy online.

Heater- not mentioned by LFS.

If I missed anything Please suggest the same.

Thanks & regards,
Koushik

I saw a post for a 4 ft x 2 ft x 1.5 ft complete marine set up here a day or two ago. seemed like the easiest way to go marine for the first time. Think the original cost was 45K. Check it out :)
