interesting link, but whats a refuge tank used for in a fish only/ semi reef setup?

to reduce nitrate and phosphate...by culturing algae.

I think Sump is the one of the best filtration system, It can be used in freshwater also. I have seen people using sump filtration successfully in their 400Ltrs discus tank.

coral feeding.
Zoanthids are pretty needy stuffs..can't just drop them in the tank and let them be. Needs a lot of maintenance too.
