Hi folks;

I recently came across this article about lighting in planted tanks as i was browsing, a synopsis of various lighting methods and their some information about them. Just thought of sharing it with you guys. Although i havent developed a very thorough understanding of the entire article, still i believe our mutual discussions can bring more things in light :)

Hopefully you will find it a good read.

Also I must add that this particular thread just rocks..!!! I just have one question guys. How much in lumen/sqinch does a 1 watt, 1200000 candle power led torch delivers in a 1 foot high tank which is moderately planted. I cant find a suitable approach to calculate it. Need you guys to help me out.

I believe that depends on the spread of light you give. Nevertheless the lumens per sq inch s very high

Can we use a 2 feet tube light of 24 Watts with colour temperature of 6500 K and 1635 lumens? Request you to kindly suggest me.

Use a T5 instead. 2 ft T5. or LED. You will get more LUX output.
