This is my second post on this forum.

I initially started with a very small 37L tank, and had various fishes. However I always wanted a larger tank.

I finally decided to upgrade my setup.

Equipment
Tank: Boyu EA 80. 32 x 16 x 22 inches (LxBxH). Its 148L, approx 40 gallons.
Filter: Boyu Overhead filter that came with tank, rated for 740L/hr and Eheim Classic 350 canister filter rated 620L/hr
Lights: Default lights with Boyu, 20wx2 tubes
Substrate: Ada La Plata 16Kg.
Decoration: A big driftwood, will add some lava rocks later
Background: Plain black

Planned fishes
14 Cardinal tetras
14 Bloodfin tetras
1 Albino(white) brislenose
4 Discus to be added later after few months after tank has settled

Plants
Need suggestions here

Plan
The plan is to set it up as a low tech planted tank. I don't want to overcrowd the tank with plants.

Currently I am having the table made for the tank. Once the table is ready, I will set up the tank with plants and let it to cycle for a week. I then plan to introduce the Cardinal tetras and brislenose followed by Bloodfin tetras after a week or two.

The table should be ready this weekend and i would be having it setup next week.

I will share pics as and when the setup process progresses.

Please give your views on my plan.

Update 1:
Table construction, wiring, house painting all done. The tank has been setup. Filter setup is pending.

suku_patel_22 wrote:Question, Can I use Java moss to carpet ?I have a sand substrate

surely...no moss needs a substrate...but keep the temp arnd 28C or moss might turn black
I've read that it needs to be anchored down or it will float. Do I need to tie it to a plastic mesh and put it under the sand or just putting the moss roots under the sand will work?

How many anchor points do I need to provide it with ?

moss dont hav roots...dats y they r moss :P
regarding the attachingg, there are many options...u can tie thm to coconut shells...or tie them to stainless steel mesh or tie to pebbles or put into the sand...any thing...one thing people also do is attaching the moss to stones/ woods with glue or fevi kwik...i dont prefer that however.
here are some pics with coco shells

Thanks. So of just putting in sand will work, I'll try that first. Should I put them in grid pattern in the sand?

Can't see the images. They are not coming up

Thanks, Saw the pics now. Do you suggest that i grow them outside the tank in a tub or something? I have currently tried to put them in sand directly.
