rajivmemon wrote:That is an amazing setup will look even more awesome as plants grow, i have one question.. you mentioned glass thickness as 8 mm ...

My fishstore seller has given me 4 mm thickness glass and size 30"X12"X15" (LXWXH) , is it safe, will it take load of planted tank ...

Thanks

Thanks for ur encouraging comment Rajiv, for ur tank size its ok with 4mm, but as my knowledge glass thickness should be more if ur planning for
plantation. Thickness should be more for clarity and during cleaning the glass may be scratchable. 4mm glasses are generally low quality local made glass.

Yes my tank indeed looks low quality glass, i had no idea about thickness of glass, searched for every thing else but not glass thickness, always trusted the fish store guys for giving good quality product, I am a bit short on tank budget now as i have purchased so many other stuff like filter, soil, medicines, food, filter media etc ...

So just wondering is it possible to transfer soil from one tank to other ? Just thinking of getting a new tank with better glass some months down the line ...

Yes Rajiv, it's very costly to setup a new tank properly, l have waited almost 6 months for all equipments. If u hv already made the plantation, then I think u should not disturb the aquarium. But if the plants are not in it then u can wait for better glass. You can follow the greenmechine videos on youtube. Best of luck :) :)

Yes, the plants are already in there, but they do not seem to be in good shape, i have one query if you may answer, i received the plants in really bad shape and i could even smell the rotten leaves , i threw away the bad ones and planted some good one's

Is it normal for plants to look dull in start then pick up ...

From where did you buy all the plants , any one reliable online, i wasted 1000 on ebay ...

Thanks

Sorry to hear that Rajiv, I once ordered riccia moss on ebay were in good condition but bit costly to order plants on ebay. I have ordered costly plants on finsnflora.com & loose plants on aquabynature-shop.com. The shipment is high but you will get fresh plants. If you compare Finsnflora(Rs/ 300 Shipment) you can get plants in very cheap rate rather than aquabynature (Rs/ 250 shipment).

Sreepadma.com is a reputed store for online plants, but never ordered.
