Aquatic Plants available in our environment/ surrounding.

Postby jaikishanpatel » Wed Jul 27, 2016 4:57 pm

Hello Guys,

I am looking for aquatic plants. I stay in Vadodara, Gujarat and I have checked most of the Fish stores in my area, but could not get live aquatic plants so far. That compelled me to ask a question on Aquatic Plants available in our environment/surrounding. I checked online, there I have to buy in good quantity otherwise the shipping cost will be way costly. As I am setting up a Planted Nano tank for the first time, I won't need that much plants. Just a few stems as the tank is 1' x 10'' x 1'.

Please guide me through. Post pics or correct names so i can check how they look like.

Thanks guys!!

NOTE: I tried seeds from ebay but those are fake.

There are terrestrial moss that grows on damp surface like walls that can be used in planted setups for driftwoods protruding above the water column.... don't know if it can be grown submerged.

Hey thatssam2001,

Can you give me the shop details? I know they sell it expensive as there is no other source for the buyers. Do you know about any open lake or pond where we can checkout for native aquatic plants?

Aqua fauna does not have it whenever I ask them. Sagar Aquarium may have but will be way costly. Because his fishes are priced way costly.

Where is Danni's??
