new to this

Postby DeepSankarSen » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:34 am

i'm planning on trying a planted tank for the first time!

will start in august.(fingers crossed)
i have two tanks- 60cm x 15cm x 20cm
105cm x 38cm x 38cm

i am rather fond of mbuna and malawi cichlids and scapes that are
dominated by rocks and wood and some small but bright greenery.

what do i need?
where do i get them?
help!

ramirezis

very colorful and perfect for planted tanks. I am keeping some in my semi planted tanks.

If the temp of your tank is not boiling, then you can keep 2-4 depending of the tank size.

P.S: I am keeping 4 rams in my 2'.

Keep some stem plants in one side...throw in 1-2 drifs...plant some amazons in the other side and voila...it'd look pretty decent for a remi rezi tank.

If you can invest more, buy some anubias.

in the 3.5' you can definitely keep some dwarf channas...rocks...hardy plants etc etc...but then again, channas are not cichlids like you wanted in the first place.

Cichlids, i'd say go with rams in a planted in the 2'
or, dwarf channas in the 3.5' with rocks and plants.

Contact mecho or avik da for availability

The pangas will disrupt the whole plant setup once they get scared and go on a rampage. Hence its advised to keep them away. Compatibility wise, they are super harmless and its okay.

The combination won't look nice though.

Even am thinking of keeping bleheris. Lets see :P
