DIY CO2
no fertilizers yet just a water change of half the volume every 3 days. i only added 2g of KNO3 to trigger the nitrogen cycle but i wont be adding any further

Hi,I just joined this forum when I came to know about it,I have two questions

1.Why are you treating sand with acid?
2.Where are you getting the laterite and vermicompost from?

Treating the sand with acid was perhaps to make sure it was inert.
Even i want to know what is vermicompost and from where to source it.

was reading your tank specifications today carefully....buddy...the substrate you are proving is enough to plant everything and almost anything. :D :D

Lighting too is plenty, i was just reading the part of no Co2,no fertz and low tech :D
Substrate is one of the most important part in a planted and you got that covered :P

no wonder such awesome growth in the tank. Do some cutting and add shape to the whole tank...it looks really good. :)

Subhadeep

@rahul1988gomes -sand collected from any source is alkaline and so i generally soak it in acid for a day atleast. And about the laterite i got it from galiff from bappada priced at 40.
@elbatty -the source of the vermicompost is from nurseries. try products sold in packs like miracle grow, evergreen, etc they are cheap and locally made. but do make arrangements to cover it as it may trigger algal bloom.
i appreciate all ur comments and suggestions though and try to make it more eyecatching in future.more updates abt this tank will pop up in weeks to come.

@subhayan -proper covering by a layer of fine gravel or sand is needed when u use something organic like vermicompost because bacterial degradation may produce gases like methane and ammonia the level of which are usually elevated thus shifting the tank's ecosystem towards marshy type. u will see these rising like bubbles in a hot spring if u dont get them covered. also make sure u have algae eaters as ur main inhabitants for first few months. they will help u get the balance in the tank.
@tigermath-i am hoping to it in the future but i am still in learning mode.need more experience bro.

your first pruning time approaching and dont show any mercy, prune like you hate them, give some shape and control ferts regime after that..the plants will grow in no time!!...enjoy plant keeping, place the cuttings on areas which will appear empty after the pruning...i dont have any clue how can HM and heteranthera survive this heat..
