Looks more like native biotope.

nice wood...actually super nice wood...is it drift?

The tank gets enough sunlight, so try to keep something to control the algae atleast. I also started a simple planted tank once...it won't remain simple after you get the enjoyment of pearling in your plants, then you'd be more drawn into it. Trust me. :P

Nice placement of the stones, looks natural.

Thank you Subhadeep. The drifts and stones were collected on a recent collection trip. And yes, i would have to keep a watch on the algae.

Hrishi, If I am not wrong, there is already some spot algae on your tank walls. You have scrubbed some from the right wall. This tank is going to be interesting experiment with a HOB, sunlight, inert substrate and zero fertilization.
The sunlight is an excellent source of light if managed properly. It has the whole of spectrum needed.
But if not managed properly is a sure shot receipe for alage
HOB is generally not advised in a planted tank, since it releases most of the the CO2 dissolved in water to atmosphere. But I have often fancied about streams flowing with great speed. Why don't they release their CO2 in air. Why not experiment with a tank with sunlight and proper water agitation. Stones, and a little substrate. It would be a sort of biotope.

Vallesnerria is perfect mismatch for this tank. Vallesneria grows in ponds with little surface agitation and rich substrate. Its a root feeder. As a result vallesneria will not grow as fast and tank might end up with algae.

Just for the sake of experiment try some fast growing stems which do not rely much on substrate. Hygrophellia sp., Ludwigia sp. might be given a try. Lets just keep our fingers crossed.

Saurabh
