Fern "Disease"

Postby Rohan » Sun Apr 01, 2012 10:22 am

Does anyone have heard or know about Fern "Disease" or Microsorum "Disease" ?

The edges of my needle leaf java fern has some brownish spots. What exactly are those and how to get rid of them ?

Thats not a desease. Most of the time ferns develope spots beneth the leaves which gives birt of new plntlets. Your case, the leaf is rotting. Cut it off.

Best way to grow fern is, clip the older and rotting leaves on regular basis and keep them where the ware current is storng.

those are sori containing spores..these are pteridophytes.
high flow rate and lower temp..i think your ferns are going to melt over the next couple of months, try to control temp or else if those rhizomes melt..bye bye
