Aquascaping Basics

Postby Rohan » Mon Mar 26, 2012 5:53 pm

When i first started my planted tank most of the hobbyists told me to concentrate to different plant growths. It been nearly half a year of my planted tank journey and i have experimented with many of the plants.Got success with most of them.I am planning to go for a beginner scape the next winter.Read many articles over net and saw many beautiful scapes.I would request the planted experts here to guide me about the basics of scaping and guide me to achieve my first serious scaping in the time ahead.Looking forward for advices from veterans :)

in short aquascaping are 2 types:
1. nature aquascaping (by great takashi amano)
2.jungle type aquascaping(blend between the Dutch method and nature aquascapes)

and for layout
1. The concave setup (high on either side or low in the middle)
2. The convex setup (the opposite of the one above, so low on either side or high in the middle)
3. The triangular setup (high on one side, getting lower to the other)
4. The rectangular setup (high everywhere). This is the one you should avoid. It does not give you areas of free space.

though our planted experts have better clarification.

no point, reinventing the wheel again and again. This is a topic, been discussed for millions of times in different forums and website. So instead of giving inputs, find good links and paste it here.
