Hi,

Ever since I started fishkeeping (a little over two months) I have been hearing about Galiff Street - in online forums, in private conversations, in articles...almost every fishkeeper I have met or spoken to has been going gaga over it.

Today, finally I paid a visit and it's totally worth the hullabaloo. I have landed with 15 new fishes taking the headcount in my aquarium to 34. As usual, I have no clue about the species or their names.

I will be posting the photographs soon and will request your help in identifying the new ones. Bear with me.

Thanks.

34fishes in a 2' tank...thats a bit too much even for malawi cichlids who prefer to be over crowded.
Very soon aggression will take over and the fish count will reduce.

Give a FTS the next time please.
Regards,
Subhadeep

Sorry for the delay in responding. The work-life balance in last few days was tilted towards work, hence the delay.

Coming back to the topic, probably you are right because everyone I spoke to/met felt that the population in my tank would be overwhelming for the fishes. Fortunately, its nearly a week since the population explosion and peace is still prevailing. However, I will be cautious in future. I don't want African civil war in my tank. Thanks for the guidance.

I will post the photographs in my next post. Will need your and other forum members' help in identifying my Cichlids.

Cheers,
Somasroy

PS. My tank size is 24"W x 15"D x 18"H [rough measurement].

@elbatty, @SanamMarik, @rk521437, @hrishi007, @other forum members...guys need your help in identifying my Cichlids. A few have already been identified by fellow forum members (thanks a bunch), will appreciate if you can help in naming the rest. I'm enclosing photographs of all my 36 Cichlids (I think last 4 are Molly, based on Google image search...can you help in providing their exact name). I have tried to put all 36 in one photograph. In case, you find the photographs too small, I can post them separately. Looking forward to your help. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Somasroy

Can you please help me to identify the fish. The only thing I know about this fish is that, it belongs to the Cichlid family. That's all. So please help me to identify it properly.
